Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Charge RN for an Operating Room assignment requiring robotics competency and prior charge experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Operating Room within a Magnet-designated teaching facility and Level 4 Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts, 06:00-16:30 with possible weekend and holiday shifts
• Patient ratio is 1:1 in the OR setting
• Floating required between the Main OR, Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC), and Hernia Center
• On-call duties are required
• Uses Epic charting system; experience with Epic is preferred
• Scrubs are provided for all OR personnel and any color is acceptable
• Responsible for leading the perioperative team and overseeing patient care in the OR
• Must be willing and able to float between different OR areas as needed
• Orientation schedules prohibit time off requests during orientation week and limit RTO to one week maximum
• First-time travelers will be considered, though completion of at least two travel assignments is highly preferred
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• No specific residential radius required for eligibility

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Must have previous charge nurse experience
• Competency with robotics in the OR is required
• Experience in teaching hospitals or trauma centers is preferred
• Must be willing to train and mentor new hire RNs
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required
• Must not have been employed by the facility within the past 18 months
