Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or PA RN license and recent Level I Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department (ED), a 74-bed unit within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center
• Includes care in both the main ED and Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed expansion with telemetry capabilities and negative pressure rooms
• Shift is 3:00 pm to 3:00 am with every third weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Floating to ETCU required and may involve caring for both ED and inpatient hold patients
• No call responsibilities
• No blocked scheduling approved
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, behavioral health, cardiac, and medical-surgical holds
• May care for COVID patients
• Team includes med/surg nurses cross-trained for specific Emergency Department tasks
• Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
• Maximum of 7 days of time off permitted
• All scheduling requests must be submitted during application

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a Level I Trauma ED
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
