Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position caring for mixed acuity patients, requiring a compact or OH RN license and flexibility with scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Mixed acuity with progressive care (PCU) and medical-surgical (MS) patient populations
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Assignments may be days, nights, or a combination depending on departmental needs
• Schedule is determined by the facility with no guaranteed set schedule or weekends
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EMR system and previous experience with Epic is required
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management
• First week of orientation is Monday through Friday on day shift
• Second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• Flexibility is essential as work schedule and weekends are not guaranteed
• Self-scheduling requests are considered before the final schedule is posted

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BCLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Skills in telemetry, IV starts, and tracheostomy management required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
