Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring critical care skills and an active NH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Focus on critically ill adult patients with a variety of complex diagnoses
• 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week with every other weekend required
• Floating to ED, stepdown, and med-surg units with modified assignments as needed
• Uses advanced equipment including balloon pumps, CRRT, Impella, ICP monitoring, artic sun or TTM management, alaris pumps, and rapid infuser
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
• Not open to first-time travelers
• Weekly orientation provided
• Perm staff eligible to return as travelers after a 12-month break in service
• Local candidates accepted at a local rate if living within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2-3 years of recent ICU experience required; CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in high-acuity situations
• Three professional references required, two from leadership
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, PALS, CCRN
