Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of perioperative experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30am-7:00pm
• On-call required: One to two weekday call shifts per week starting at 5pm, plus one weekend call every 5 weeks (48 hours total from Saturday 7am to Monday 7am)
• Floating within scope may be required to like units or sister facilities
• Hospital-issued scrubs must be worn in the OR
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Primary responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing as part of the surgical team
• Must complete facility onboarding modules before start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• A 60-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are accepted at a local rate
• Block scheduling requests may be considered with management approval and are based on unit needs
• All requested time off must be included at the time of application and approval depends on facility needs

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required at time of start
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Radiation badge required and must be provided by agency
• SSN and valid driver’s license required for consideration
• Previous staff (including PRN) must be separated from the health system for 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
