Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts at a large Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring a current TN or compact RN license and recent emergency room experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Emergency Department of a large hospital setting
Patient population includes trauma cases and acute emergencies
Level 1 Trauma experience required
Night shift schedule, Friday through Monday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (4x12 hours, 48 hours per week)
Floating may occur between similar units and campuses within a 20-mile radius, but is rare
Uses Cerner EMR, Cerner experience preferred
Responsible for providing emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment
RTO must be submitted at the time of application; requests after offer will not be approved
If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s fall within assignment dates, must be willing to work two of three holidays
Must be willing to work at least one holiday if two major holidays fall within assignment
Vaccination status must be included for job consideration

Requirements

Active TN or compact RN license in hand and compliant with NLC guidelines; pending licenses will not be accepted
Minimum 2 years recent ER nursing experience with prior travel experience, or 3 years if no travel experience
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility—locals not eligible
At least one completed travel assignment; first-time travelers are not accepted
Former permanent employees or internal travelers must be separated for at least one year to be considered

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in.
