Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float position requiring an active OH or compact license, BLS/ACLS certification, and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Float Pool PCU position within a hospital setting
  • May float to any stepdown or PCU unit, including other campuses such as heart, brain & spine, and rehabilitation centers
  • Night shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
  • Estimated patient ratios are 1:3-4
  • Care for patients of varying acuity, with potential to float to lower-acuity areas
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must be prepared to float to different departments or campuses as needed
  • All time off requests must be provided up front and will be built into the contract
  • Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
  • A gap of at least six months is required for former employees to be eligible for travel assignments
  • Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
  • Urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting is required following contract signing

Requirements

  • Active RN license from Ohio or a compact state, in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or stepdown experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Competency in IV start and telemetry skills required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required; at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
