Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool night shift position requiring an OH or compact license and 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Night shifts: 3 x 12 hours, 7:00PM - 7:30AM, totaling 36 hours per week
• Handles a patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Works weekdays, some weekends, and holidays
• Utilizes the Epic EMR system
• Primary responsibility is to provide high-quality nursing care in a Med/Surg environment
• Flexibility to float between units based on staffing needs
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the schedule
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must promptly complete the OH fingerprinting process after contract signing
• Former employees are eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees are ineligible

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BCLS certification required
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring needed
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a formal leadership role
