Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL license, strong ICU skills, and mandatory floating between multiple ICU units.
Responsibilities
- Work in various ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- May also float to Med-Surg units as needed
- Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Day shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00 am - 7:30 pm), with every other weekend required
- Floating is mandatory between ICU and other units within 50 miles, possibly with 2-hour notice
- Orientation and precepting occur during the first week on day shift
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Must be willing to float between multiple ICU units and to Med-Surg as staffing needs arise
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be approved
- No more than 5 days of time off (RTO) allowed, with a maximum of 2 consecutive days; no weekend or holiday RTO permitted, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
- Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
- Lab work and compliance documents must be completed promptly, with lab work required within 72 hours of accepting an assignment
- Team-based model used if floated outside of primary area of competency
- First week includes orientation and precepting on day shift
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proof of COVID vaccination required; booster not required
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility to be considered
- Pending license not accepted

Unit is traveler friendly. Rad onc unit is in the basement of course so no interaction with other departments.
