Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 18 months of recent perm Med/Surg Telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital
• Night shifts, 3x12 or 4x12 hour options available
• Patient population includes adults requiring medical, surgical, or telemetry care
• Uses ECG rhythm monitoring equipment
• Required to work at least every other holiday
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg Tele setting
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments within two attempts during orientation
• Holiday coverage is mandatory for assigned holidays
• Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return to hospital for one year after previous end date
• Fingerprinting and badging must be completed onsite prior to start date
• Modules and training must be completed prior to or at the start of assignment and annually if assignment is extended
• Extensions may be offered for up to 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required
• This temporary exemption allows RNs to work regardless of nicotine use status
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required and must be current
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments must be passed during orientation
• No previous license hits or open legal cases allowed
