Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool role, requiring ICU, ED, and MS floating and prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital float pool setting
• Float between ICU, Emergency Department, and Medical-Surgical units, including a sister facility located 15 minutes away
• Shift consists of night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:00-06:00)
• Every other weekend is required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Uses MediTech Expanse charting system
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float between main and sister campuses based on unit need
• No first-time travelers accepted; must have prior travel experience
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
• Scrub color is employee preference
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Member of the rapid response team may be required from each department
• Time off requests are limited to one request, not exceeding 10 days and not within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license; pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; NIH Stroke Scale and TNCC preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability and comfort with frequent floating between ICU, ED, and MS units
• Experience with para/thoracentesis, intubation, central and arterial line placement, management of dysrhythmias, and ventilated patients
