Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry pre-surgical visit role in an outpatient cardiac surgery clinic, requiring a WA RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in an outpatient cardiovascular surgery clinic setting
  • Mainly pre-surgical patient population with diagnoses such as CAD, AVD, MVD, TVD, HCM, IST, AFIB, and HFeEF
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm schedule with no weekends or nights
  • Temporary-to-hire 13-week contract with expectation for permanent placement if successful
  • No on-call or floating required within the clinic during initial assignment
  • Charting is done using Epic EMR and prior Epic experience is required
  • Role involves extensive patient education and supporting patients with cardiac conditions before surgery
  • You will perform EKGs, obtain MRSA swabs, coordinate discharge planning, and interpret clinical results in collaboration with surgeons and schedulers
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Travel and local candidates are both eligible, but reliable transportation is required
  • Former permanent staff must have a minimum 3-month break before returning as a traveler, and must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Requested time off must be discussed at the time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be honored
  • Dress code details will be provided after hire
  • Clinic staff expect travelers to provide high levels of support to anxious, fragile post-op cardiac surgery patients

Requirements

  • Active WA RN license in hand (compact licensure not accepted for this position)
  • At least 1 year of RN experience in an inpatient or cardiac clinic setting is required; 2 years preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to perform and interpret 12 lead EKG/ECGs, MRSA swabs, patient education, discharge planning, and interpretation of laboratory results
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting
