Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and MI RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Neuro ICU within a hospital setting
- Unit has 24 beds and cares for neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, otolaryngology, and oral maxillofacial surgery patients
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Shift is day (3x12 hours) from 6:30 to 19:00
- Weekends required every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating may be required if census is low
- EPIC EMR experience is required
- Manage and oversee care for patients with brain tumors, cerebral aneurysms, intracranial hemorrhage, head and spinal cord injuries, and other complex neurological cases
- Responsibilities include tracheostomy care, free flap assessment, and doppler usage
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care plans
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Previous experience with stroke care, thrombectomies, SAH precautions, EVD Ventric care, sedation management, and drip titration
- Experience caring for patients undergoing neurosurgery, neurological conditions, traumatic brain injuries, and related critical care needs
- Experience with administration of medications such as hypertonic solutions, paralytics, Propofol, and sedation agents
- EPIC experience is required
- Cannot be a returning employee if previously worked at any client facility within the last 12 months
