Job Description

American Traveler seeks a skilled RN for a Telemetry unit, requiring OH or compact license, advanced care drip experience, and the ability to float to stepdown units.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a mixed acuity Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for advanced care level patients with experience in advanced drips and stepdown required
• Target patient ratios are generally 1:4, but may increase to 1:5-6
• Participates in a team nursing model alongside RNs, LPNs, and PCTs, or occasionally in a primary nursing model
• Travelers are required to float to all stepdown and advanced care units as needed
• Floating may be necessary between main, south, and north campuses within approximately 15 miles
• Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 – 19:30)
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
• 13-week assignment duration, with both 36 or 48-hour work weeks accepted
• No holiday requested time off (RTO) is accepted
• A maximum of 7 days of RTO will be approved for the contract
• No travel partner assignments allowed
• Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks prior to working on high-risk units unless PAPR is available or needed
• Medical exemptions will not be accepted for this contract

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large hospital; Level 1 trauma experience preferred, Level 2 accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Must have or be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• Travel experience preferred
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
