Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab position in New York requiring a current NY RN license and 2 years of EP Lab experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a mixed procedural unit supporting Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional Radiology (IR) with shared prep and recovery areas
Adult patient population with typical diagnoses of arrhythmias
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), no weekends or on-call required
Average daily census is 7 patients with a 1:4 day shift nurse-to-patient ratio
Floating required to Cath Prep/Recovery
Uses EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication management
Interpretation services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams available
Responsible for circulating procedures, medication administration, and monitoring procedural sedation
Orientation is provided and lasts 11.5 hours
Scrubs are provided to all staff
First-time travelers are accepted
Return staff must be gone for at least 1 year to be eligible for traveler assignments
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Up to 5 days RTO permitted, but no RTO during the first 2 weeks of assignment
Parking is assigned at no cost in the employee garage or available on the street

Requirements

Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an EP Lab or similar setting
Experience with 1:4 ratios required
Proficient in pre- and post-procedure care and administration of a variety of cardiac medications
Ability to obtain and interpret 12 Lead EKG/ECG, manage procedural sedation, and perform sheath removal
EPIC documentation experience preferred
Must comply with COVID vaccine requirements
