Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a current NY license for a 13-week Emergency Department contract requiring MEDITECH EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• 12-hour evening shifts from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., three shifts per week
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient population consists of emergency and acute care cases
• Use of the MEDITECH EMR is required
• May be required to take on charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential
• Applicants must be able to function well under stress and display creative problem-solving abilities
• Must assess and implement safety protocols, including using patient lifts when appropriate
• 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• No on-call responsibilities are required for this position
• COVID and flu vaccination requirements may apply

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire
• Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with MEDITECH EMR required
• Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
• IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification to be completed during orientation
• Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and achieve defibrillation certification within six months
