Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position requiring an Illinois RN license and EPIC charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med/Surg setting on the 7C Medical Respiratory unit
- Patient population primarily consists of general medical and respiratory cases
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:30am, 3 shifts per week
- Uses EPIC electronic medical record system; prior EPIC experience required
- Position requires working in a Level 1 Trauma environment
- Responsible for initial assessment, developing and implementing plan of care, and modifying care based on patient needs
- Expected to provide accurate documentation to support the healthcare team
- Must actively ensure patient and employee safety
- Required to collaborate effectively with peers and contribute to professional development within the unit
- First time travelers may apply
- Time off requests may not exceed 7 total days per 13 week contract
- Returning travelers must observe a 6-month break after completing 1 year of service before rehiring
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
- Scrub color or dress code details are not specified
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses are accepted
- Minimum of one year of recent relevant nursing experience required
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Experience with EPIC charting required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
