Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring an active ID or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a 24-bed acute care telemetry unit
Patient population includes heart failure, COPD, sepsis, AFib, pneumonia, stroke, detox, and patients on suicidal holds
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a with weekend rotation as needed
May float to MedSurg within the facility and to Tele units at Meridian or Boise
Unit uses Epic EMR; experience preferred
Set rate medications include Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Lidocaine
Cpap, Bipap, and high flow oxygen equipment utilized
Telemetry Techs available; RNs must sign off on ECG strips
Schedule is managed by the unit scheduler without blocked scheduling requests
Team nursing model with a charge nurse and unit leadership support
CNAs available with a 1:8 ratio; three CNAs when the unit is full
One to two days of department-specific orientation provided
RNs do not titrate drips on this unit
Travelers with experience may be eligible for lead roles
Clean and professional scrubs of any color are permitted
Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs
First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Active ID or compact RN license required at time of consideration
Minimum 1 year recent RN experience in telemetry or a related acute care setting
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Two professional references: one from a supervisor in the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor in the past 3 years
Copy of driver’s license required
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
Previous permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before applying as a traveler

Pros

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
