Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with NM or compact RN license and TNCC for a Level I Trauma setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital
• Patient ratio is 1:5 with a high percentage of admitted and ED holding patients
• Night shifts available (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30), with both 36 and 48 hour options
• Weekend scheduling required as needed, including nights on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Floating to Adult PCUs is expected; floating to Peds ED is optional and to ED Holding or Trauma may occur depending on staffing
• Cerner EMR is used
• RN will administer medications, including IV meds, and document clinical findings
• Expect an increased number of admit holds and ED holding patients
• Black scrubs are required but not provided
• First-time travelers considered if Level I Trauma experience and 2+ years of ED experience are met
• No on-call required
• Holiday and weekend coverage required as scheduled
• Time off requests greater than 7 days require approval

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; 1.5 years considered
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have prior to consideration), NIHSS (can be pending before compliance due date)
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved religious or medical exemption is provided
• No locals accepted within 75 miles
