Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN experienced in pre- and post-anesthesia care for a critical access hospital assignment, accepting first-time travelers.
Responsibilities
- Work in a blended PACU and pre-anesthesia unit within a critical access hospital
- Environment includes Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Care in a perianesthesia setting
- Patient population is both pre- and post-anesthesia, with staffing adjusted per ASPAN and state standards
- Day shift schedule is 4x10 hours from 6:30 to 17:00
- On-call required two days per week and some weekends on a rotational basis
- Weekend call runs from Friday 06:30 to Monday 06:30
- Floating between units and other facilities within the state is required
- Uses Epic for charting
- Responsibilities include pre- and post-anesthesia nursing care aligned with ASPAN standards
- Call duties are shared equally among RN staff
- Scrub attire can be any color
- Parking is free on site
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and may not live within 50 miles of the facility
- Minimal to no RTO is allowed and all requests must be confirmed prior to assignment
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
Requirements
- Active OR RN license or eligibility to obtain
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU or relevant perianesthesia nursing experience
- Proficiency in both pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia patient care
- Current BLS and additional certifications as required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- References: Two supervisory references covering one year within the past three years in a similar specialty/setting
- Documents required for consideration include SS card and driver’s license
