Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a GA or compact RN license and proficiency in Epic in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit caring for adolescent to geriatric patients
• Unit features 38 beds with an average daily census of 33 and a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio
• Remote telemetry monitoring is utilized for Med/Surg diagnoses
• Uses Epic for documentation, Pyxis for medication administration, and SBAR communication methods
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Floating to similar units may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• A maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment or during Spring Break (April 6-12)
• Travelers are required to work major holidays as they fall within their assignment, with a specific rule regarding the number of holidays worked based on assignment period
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• Travel pairs are not assigned the same shift and unit
• First time travelers are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg RN experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Eligible candidates must not have worked as perm or PRN staff in any facility within the same health system in the past year
• Completion of all compliance requirements before start is mandatory
