Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU/MS Telemetry position requiring a GA or compact RN license, with experience titrating cardiac drips and working night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital PCU and mixed MS/Telemetry setting caring for adolescents through geriatrics
  • Night shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 19:00 to 7:30
  • Patient assignments may include PCU, MS/Tele, or a mix based on patient acuity and staffing needs
  • Patient ratio is 1:4-5, with a high staffing ratio
  • Patient population includes neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical cases
  • Titrating cardiac drips required and telemetry monitoring is standard
  • EMR systems used include Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
  • Floating required within the facility
  • No on-call requirements
  • Every other weekend work required
  • Must wear navy blue scrubs
  • No blocked scheduling is permitted
  • Holiday coverage required: travelers must work assigned major holidays based on assignment period
  • A maximum of 7 days RTO is allowed, with no RTO permitted during the first week or over Spring Break or Christmas
  • Full compliance required prior to starting; non-compliance may delay start by two weeks
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Recent experience with titrating cardiac drips and telemetry required
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred
  • Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
  • Perm/PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year before returning as a traveler

Pros

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
