Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Epic charting experience and 2 years of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on a medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities
• Focus on patients with renal and urological diagnoses, including post-prostate surgery and renal stones
• Care includes bladder and kidney surgeries, catheter irrigations, bladder scans, and incontinence procedures
• Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatrics
• Typical patient ratio is 1:6
• Shifts are 3x12 hours, night schedule from 19:00 to 07:00
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Uses Epic charting system
• Responsibilities include comprehensive care for renal and urological patients and performing specialized procedures such as catheter irrigations
• Unit also accepts telemetry overflow and other Med/Surg admissions
• No travel pairs or groups will be considered
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a Med/Surg setting
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Cannot be a former permanent staff member unless separated for at least 1 year
• Applicants from specific TX counties are not eligible (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris)
