Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with EPIC proficiency and at least 1 year of recent experience for a day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU of a hospital supporting pre-op and Phase II recovery for both inpatients and outpatients
• Treat a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, vascular, plastics, orthopedic, thoracic (no open hearts), gyn, dental, ENT, and select pediatric cases for candidates with pediatric experience
• Float between units and facilities within the state is required
• Day shift schedule: four 10-hour shifts, 10:30 to 21:00
• Use of the Epic EMR system is required
• Handles breathing treatments and CPAP/BiPap for appropriate patients
• Provide care for patients pre- and post-operatively, including assessments, medication administration, and discharge instructions
• Expect to float as needed between different units and facilities within the state
• Returning employees from other Providence facilities (not Swedish) must have a 3-month separation and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Scrubs are provided
• Requested time off must be discussed at the time of application; limited RTO allowed
• References must include a minimum of two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years in a comparable specialty

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU nursing experience is required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management required
• Experience with ENT, general, gyn, ophthalmology, ortho, urology, and pre/post-op procedures required
• Narcotic/opioid analgesics and reversal agents administration experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates with pediatric PACU experience may be assigned pediatric patients
• First-time travelers are not accepted
