Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Telemetry position with cardiac and neuro patient care responsibilities, requiring a GA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with mixed MS/Telemetry and intermediate patients
• Care for patient populations ranging from adolescents to geriatrics with neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical needs
• Assignments may vary between all PCU, all MS/Telemetry, or a mix based on patient acuity and staffing
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with higher staffing ratios expected
• Titrating cardiac drips experience required; telemetry monitoring is necessary
• Utilizes Epic for EMR, Pyxis for medication dispensing, and SBAR for communication
• Standard shifts are day (3x12 hours) from 7:00 to 19:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within facility; no on-call required
• Must be willing to work assigned major holidays based on contract length
• No block scheduling allowed
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Return travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year
• If not eligible to return to a facility, a successful assignment outside the system is required before rebooking
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift and unit
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed and none during the first week of the assignment
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary for a timely start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to manage high patient ratios
• Familiarity with Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager level or above) for consideration
