Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a current NY license and at least three years of surgical experience for an evening shift assignment with call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Covers a wide variety of cases including ortho-total joint and trauma, neuro, gynecology/urology, vascular, and thoracic surgeries
• Handles specialized procedures such as gastric bypass, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid interventions, mastectomy, laminectomy, arthroscopy, joint replacement, reconstructive plastic surgeries, and urological procedures
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System in select cases
• Shift is evening (4x10 hours), 13:00 to 23:30
• Call is required during the assignment
• Minimal RTO (time off) allowed
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Responsibilities include circulating and assisting with a diverse range of surgical cases
• Must be prepared to respond to codes and adhere to strict safety, infection control, and specimen handling protocols
• Scrub attire is teal
• Holiday coverage may be required per department needs
• Block scheduling may be considered but is not guaranteed
• Local candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years operating room RN experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Broad surgical skill set including ortho trauma, neuro, GYN/Urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
