Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring active NJ or compact licensure and recent fresh open heart surgical patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:15
• Patient ratios typically 1:2, may be 1:3 based on acuity; fresh post-cardiac surgery patients are 1:1
• Float to CCU, CTICU, ICU, and/or stepdown as needed
• Care for patients including fresh open heart surgery, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, TAVR, and valve replacement
• Uses Epic EMR for documentation
• Every other weekend required
• Scrubs color is Royal Blue
• Provide specialized care for complex cardiovascular patients including immediate post-operative management
• First time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Must adhere to hospital dress code for Royal Blue scrubs
• Holiday coverage as determined by unit needs

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Stroke CEUs required
• Recent experience with fresh open heart surgical patients, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, TAVR, and valve replacement required
• Experience using Epic charting system preferred
• Must not have been employed full time or PRN within the previous year at the same health system
