Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position, requiring a MD or compact RN license and EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department with a 46-bed unit
• Serves all age groups with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illnesses
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4, up to 5 with lower acuity patients
• Average daily census is 140
• Specialized equipment includes Belmont in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
• Uses EPIC charting system; experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:30-08:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Holiday shifts required as scheduled
• Floating within the specialty required as needed
• No scheduled on-call responsibilities
• Responsibilities include providing emergency care to patients of all ages in a high-volume setting
• Team members utilize specialized equipment for trauma and cardiac cases
• Holiday coverage is required according to the department schedule
• Candidates must be willing to float within the specialty as needed

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered with 5+ years of experience
• EPIC charting system experience required
