Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift position, requiring 2 years of PCU and ICU experience with Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a teaching environment
• Patient population includes cardiac and higher-acuity stepdown cases
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Floating required to three locations within 20 miles as needed
• Uses Epic EMR; strong proficiency (level 3-4) required
• Responsibilities include caring for PCU/stepdown patients with emphasis on cardiac monitoring and managing cardiac drips
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront; additional RTO may not be approved
• Strict white scrub dress code enforced
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Assignments at any affiliated location may not exceed 18 consecutive months, with a mandatory 6-month wait for re-assignment
• Negative smoke/nicotine status is required for all employees
• Required to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly upon assignment confirmation
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required per unit needs

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license (pending accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience and ICU experience required
• Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required at time of consideration, NIHSS required prior to start
• Experience with cardiac drips required
• All travelers must be nicotine free and pass a 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen within 12 months of start
• EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation, with a maximum of two attempts for each
• No license hits accepted
