Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current CA license, strong circulating experience, and advanced life support certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a community hospital setting
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and adolescent surgical patients
• Circulating cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Spine, Urology, Robotics, OB/GYN (C-sections), and Plastic Surgery
• Shifts are four 10-hour days, starting between 6:45 am and 8:30 am
• On-call required for overnight weekdays, 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays
• Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care using the nursing process and knowledge of pharmacology
• Must have detailed understanding of medication dosages, interactions, and side effects
• Only one holiday request off will be approved
• Return staff must have a one-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Requires residence outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years recent OR experience in a community hospital or Level II Trauma facility
• At least 2 years circulating experience in referenced specialties
• Conscious sedation experience required
• Must be able to go for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
