Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current MI license and strong skills in thoracic, ENT, neuro, and oral surgery specialties.

Responsibilities

Position is based in the Operating Room department of a Level 1 trauma center
Adult patient population including neurosurgery, otolaryngology, oral maxillofacial, thoracic (excluding transplant), and spine surgeries
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1
Day shifts consist of 4x10 hours (07:00-17:00 or 09:00-19:00)
On-call required with a 30-minute response time, broken into service specialties for circulating and scrubbing roles
Use of Pyxis medication system
Scrubs are provided
Position involves circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of adult surgical specialties
Work in a new, advanced facility featuring 20 surgical and 3 interventional radiology suites
Cannot apply if employed by any client facility within the last 12 months
Must provide all time off requests during initial application
First week orientation paid separately and may vary in duration at facility discretion

Requirements

Active MI RN license in hand
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent OR RN experience required; 2 years preferred
Experience in thoracic, ENT, neuro, and oral surgery specialties required
Two supervisory references required for consideration (charge references not accepted)
Flu vaccination required from 10/31/25 through end of Winter 2026 with no exemptions

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in.
