Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with an active IL license, BLS, and ACLS certifications for hospital-based shifts with weekend and float requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Uses Epic charting system
• Shift is day (3x12 hours), 6:45 to 19:15
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
• No block scheduling accommodated
• Vaccination exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of acceptance
• Online modules required prior to start

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Passing EKG strip test required at orientation
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• No pending licenses accepted
