Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift PCU (stepdown/telemetry) position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care setting on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry and stepdown responsibilities
• Patient population includes stepdown-level acuity requiring advanced monitoring
• 12-hour night shifts with variable days
• Charting is done using Cerner, with a transition to Epic underway
• Assignment is 13 weeks in duration
• 8 hours of orientation provided at start
• Local candidates within 80 miles are considered local and may have a reduced travel rate
• Travelers may be required to float within the scope of their role
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a progressive care or stepdown setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications from AHA required
• Two professional references: one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years
• Previous permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 6 months and require hospital approval to return
