Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Rehab Unit position in a post-acute care hospital setting with strong neuro skills and an active IL RN license required.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Acute Rehab Unit of a post-acute care hospital
- 29-bed unit with patient ratios of 5:1 for days and 6:1 for nights
- Patient population includes neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical cases (trachs, no vents)
- Uses non-monitored tele packs, heparin drips only, and CPAP/BiPAP at night
- EPIC charting system is used
- Shift is 12 hours, nights, with a 7:00pm to 7:30am schedule
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Floating required to LTAC/med-surg units; will not float to HAU unless trained
- No on-call or standby required
- RNs are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
- Two days of class orientation plus 2-3 days/nights with a preceptor provided
- Support from house supervisors and nurse aides (aide ratio 1:9/10)
- Scrubs of any color permitted, with no t-shirts unless approved
- Holiday rotation is every other holiday
- COVID-19 vaccine is not required
- Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles may be subject to local wage rules
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience in an acute rehab or similar setting
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Strong neuro skills required
- Experience with rehab documentation and QRP preferred
- EMR experience with EPIC preferred
