Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma setting requiring 3 years of OR RN experience and current BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level I trauma Operating Room within a short-term acute care hospital
- Handles a wide range of cases including general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
- Average daily census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms
- Day shifts are 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:30, with required weekend coverage every Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday
- Six call shifts required within each six week period
- Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR, prior Cerner experience required
- RNs are expected to be well-rounded in most OR specialties except CV and transplant
- Must work two out of three major holidays during the assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO requests of five days or less are auto-approved
- Scrubs are provided
- Parking is free
Requirements
- Active IN or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
- Minimum 3 years of recent operating room RN experience, including at least one year in a Level I trauma setting
- Experience with circulating required; scrub experience preferred
- Degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Returned employees must have been away from the facility for at least 12 months before reapplying as a traveler
