Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Transplant Operating Room position requiring strong liver transplant experience and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital
- Focus on abdominal transplants including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures
- Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours, 19:00 to 7:30
- Call required, totaling 40 to 60 hours per 6-week period
- Floating required across multi-specialty surgeries and to affiliate hospitals
- Charting is done using Cerner EMR
- Transplant OR role solely handles adult abdominal transplants; pediatric transplants are performed at a different facility
- All travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital
- First-time travelers are welcome if they possess required experience
- Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Locals are accepted, though compensation may differ for those with permanent residence in Indiana
- Scrub color policies are enforced within the unit
- Any previous permanent or PRN IU employees must be separated for 12 months before consideration as a traveler
- Free parking is provided on site
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) can be auto-approved
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required at time of start; pending licenses accepted for start dates 2-4 weeks out
- Minimum of 2 years of strong transplant operating room experience with specific recipient procedure experience in liver transplant
- Current BLS certification required (AHA & RQI accepted)
- Regulatory Charting for Transplants certification required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university
- Cerner EMR experience required
