Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Transplant Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of strong transplant and liver transplant OR experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an acute care hospital Operating Room specializing in abdominal transplants including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal procedures
- Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
- Call required: 40-60 hours per 6-week period
- Float required to other surgeries and multi-specialty procedures as needed
- Cerner is the EMR used and experience is required
- Pediatric transplants are not handled by travelers
- Provide intraoperative care for complex abdominal transplant procedures
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- All travelers are expected to float within the hospital or to affiliated locations as needed
- Free parking is available for staff
- Any former permanent or PRN employees must be away for 12 months before being considered as a traveler
- Auto-approval for up to 5 days of requested time off
- Local candidates are accepted for this role, though local travelers are paid at a lower rate than non-local candidates
- Scrub color information is provided at orientation
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required, or ability to obtain by start date
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience with strong transplant, specifically liver transplant, procedures
- BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Regulatory charting for transplants required
- Graduate from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Cerner EMR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with required transplant experience
