Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics position in a Level 3 trauma acute care setting requiring an active MN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital unit specializing in OB/Labor & Delivery, postpartum, pediatrics, and GYN
• Level 3 trauma center environment
• Patient assignments include postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow, and assisting as second RN in Special Care Nursery
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg, 1:3-4 pediatrics
• Census averages 5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, and 4 SCN
• Support staff includes ward clerk, CNA, charge nurse/circulator, resource nurse, and LPN scrub nurse
• Required to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed
• 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with every third weekend and rotating holidays
• Uses Epic EMR (Epic One Chart); experience preferred
• Utilizes equipment such as Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, bladder scanner, Medula breast pumps, Responder 5 call light system, and Medfusion pumps
• Responsibilities include caring for diverse patient populations including laboring and postpartum mothers, pediatric patients, and GYN or Med-Surg overflow
• Orientation includes equipment and unit overview on the first day
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Will assist in covering schedule gaps due to staff onboarding, vacancies, and FMLA
• Holiday coverage required as per schedule
• Candidates living within 80 miles are eligible, but subject to local rate adjustments
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have a minimum six-month gap since last employment

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in OB/Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics
• Experience with Epic or familiarity with other EMR systems preferred
• Ability to work in Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and PEDS
• Must be willing to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry as needed
