Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with recent Med/Surg and surgical oncology experience for a Level 1 trauma acute care night shift position requiring an active ND or compact license.

Responsibilities

Work in a 47-bed acute care hospital Med/Surg unit serving both medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients
Level 1 trauma center environment with patients needing general and specialized care
Night shift role with 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday required
Nurse to patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
Epic EMR is used for documentation; experience with Epic is required
Unit uses AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
Home unit is 5SE but may float to any Med/Surg unit within the campus
Provide nursing care to a mixed patient population including Med/Surg and surgical oncology
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Initial orientation includes one day of lead center training plus two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
Navy blue scrubs are required
Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
Previous employees of the health system may be considered if their previous employment ended at least six months prior to consideration
Candidates residing within 60–80 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate

Requirements

Active ND or Compact RN license
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required
Experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds and trauma level 2 or higher is required
Epic EMR experience required
Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
Cannot accept travelers living within a 60-mile radius of the facility
