Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with required neuro, trauma, ortho, and robotics experience for a day shift in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room with cases including neuro, trauma, ortho, and robotics
• Day shift schedule is 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Weekend call required with 2 weekend call shifts every 6 weeks; call starts Friday after shift and ends 7:00 AM Monday
• 1-2 weekday call shifts per week (Monday-Thursday), call starts after shift until 7:00 AM next day with a 30-minute callback response
• Call required on holidays as needed by department
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
• May care for COVID patients as part of regular duties
• Tobacco and fragrance free work environment
• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed per contract, and requests must be made up front
• Holiday call coverage based on department needs
• 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidates
• Pre-start educational modules are required and typically take 5-6 hours to complete
• Manager interview required following clinical screening for unit fit
• Travel pairs are accepted but matched schedules are not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license with no license hits
• Minimum of 2 years operating room nursing experience
• Experience in neuro, trauma, ortho, and robotics surgical cases required
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Must be able to respond within 30 minutes during call shifts
