Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in New Jersey requiring critical care background and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital operating room and Cath Lab setting
• Handles patient populations from pediatric to geriatric requiring perioperative and cardiac catheterization care
• Shift is 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., three days per week
• Monthly requirement of up to eight on-call shifts
• Epic EMR is used
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, direct patient care, and documentation throughout perioperative procedures
• Demonstrate competency with emergency equipment, safe transfer techniques, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Provide patient and family education related to procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Prioritize and individualize nursing care based on patient needs and surgical procedures
• May be required to float to cover staffing at a sister hospital
• Scrub and dress code requirements follow hospital standards

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years critical care experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
