Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of recent MS/TELE experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a hospital Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit on the 3rd floor
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6 and may fluctuate with census
• Uses Meditech EMR system
• Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
• Bi-weekly rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Orientation provided every two weeks
• Float and on-call requirements not specified
• Responsibilities include providing care for adult medical surgical and telemetry patients
• Resource must not be a local candidate; no local applicants accepted
• Travel pairs are generally not allowed unless otherwise specified by unit needs
• No block scheduling available for this assignment
• Holiday and weekend shift coverage may be required per unit needs
• Bi-weekly orientation is available to all new staff

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years current Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
• EMR experience with Meditech preferred
