Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least one year of telemetry or medsurg and cardiac drip experience for a night shift assignment, requiring a LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital telemetry unit
  • Patient ratios are 1:5 for day shifts and 1:6 for night shifts
  • Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend
  • Floating to other units is required
  • Call is required as part of the assignment
  • Uses Epic for EMR documentation
  • Must be willing to serve on an Emergency Team and remain onsite during major events or respond as part of a relief team if assigned
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Request time off must be disclosed and discussed during the interview to avoid offer rescindment

Requirements

  • Active LA or compact RN license required
  • Current AHA certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year of telemetry or medsurg experience required
  • Experience with cardiac drips and EKG monitoring required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must live at least 65 miles from the facility; local travelers are not accepted
