Description

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of IR experience for a day-shift assignment in a Level III Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

Work in an interventional radiology unit within a short-term acute care, teaching hospital
Level III Trauma Center with 733 staffed beds
Day shifts are 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Weekend coverage required every other weekend
Call coverage is required
Floating within scope and between similar units as needed
Uses Epic EMR system
Scrubs are provided
Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for travelers
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Return staff must have been gone for at least one year before returning as a traveler
Travelers can complete only two contracts before a mandatory six-month break is required to return
RTO requests are at manager's discretion
All call-outs for scheduled shifts must be made up as deemed necessary by the department

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology experience required
ARRT registration required
IR experience is mandatory
Experience in a trauma center environment preferred
License required if applicable

Pros

Unit is traveler friendly. Higg standards for nursing care. Lots of post partum couplets to care for!

Cons

The pace on this postpartum unit is pretty frantic. Start the day with 4 couplets, discharge 2, admit 1-2. You won't ever stop moving. Drinks only allowed at the "hydration station" and food only in the break room. This was in 2021 so things may have changed.
