Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for an acute rehab and med/surg split role requiring at least 3 years of experience and a current VA or OH license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Acute Rehab Unit and Med/Surg split setting
• 23-bed ARU with patient population including stroke, amputee, hip fracture, and general medical patients
• 8-hour day shifts with rotating weekends
• Support staff includes rehab techs, a PPS coordinator, a social worker, referral liaisons, and administrative assistant
• Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and implementing physical therapy for a variety of diagnoses
• Pass/fail EKG testing is required on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides provided
• Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to maximize patient outcomes
• Emphasis on education and engagement with patients and their families throughout the rehab process
• Participate in continued education and improvement opportunities as part of department expectations
• Candidates must not live within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Local candidates are accepted with adjusted compensation

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent physical therapy experience required, 3-5 years preferred
• At least 1 year of prior travel experience required; 2 years preferred
• Current VA or OH Physical Therapy license in hand highly preferred; license required if applicable
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a bachelor's degree; doctorate preferred
• Specialty certifications (OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women’s Health, etc.) preferred
