Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with both circulating and scrubbing skills, licensed in NJ or compact states, for a Level 2 trauma center assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a Level 2 trauma center hospital
• Caring for a broad surgical population including all OR specialties except open heart
• Required to circulate and scrub for cases
• Robotic and ENT procedures included in case mix
• Experience with ortho, vascular, general, thoracic, and neuro surgeries is required
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Evening shift, five 8-hour shifts per week (15:00 - 23:30)
• Call required two times per schedule
• Scrubs are provided
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub and circulate skills checklist and relevant work history required for consideration
• Must submit two current references and copies of all certifications for consideration
• Thorough pre-employment background check required
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary OR team in a fast-paced trauma setting

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum two years of recent acute care OR experience required
• Proficiency with both circulating and scrubbing in the operating room
• Experience with robotic and ENT procedures is required
• Ortho, vascular, general, thoracic, and neuro surgery experience required
• Experience using EPIC charting preferred
• RWJBH staff must have a 1 year separation before returning as a traveler
