Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Cardiac position caring for CICU-level patients and requiring Epic experience and 2 years of recent PCU background.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit within the ED, caring for inpatient/CICU-level holds
• Patient diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, and post-cardiac procedures
• Will also see overflow of medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic patients
• Position requires managing and titrating drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrilin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
• Equipment utilized includes Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, and Phillips Monitoring System
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience required
• Day shift (3x12 hours), 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
• Every other weekend required
• Provide specialized care for high-acuity cardiac and complex patients awaiting inpatient beds
• Float to medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic overflow as needed
• No first-time travelers with only 1 year experience will be considered
• Travelers residing within 50 miles will be accepted at the local rate

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Valid AHA or Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required; must be within the last year
• EKG test required on arrival
• Epic experience required
• ED experience preferred but not required
• References required for consideration; second reference may be provided after start
• Former employees of any SolutionHealth facility are not eligible
