Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery travel assignment requiring high-risk pregnancy expertise and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of a large hospital
• Day shifts, 7:00am – 7:00pm, with a 3x12 schedule
• Care for high-risk pregnancy patients in a fast-paced environment
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Deliver comprehensive care to laboring mothers, emphasizing high-risk cases
• Perform thorough patient assessments and provide safe, individualized nursing care
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient care and education
• Participate in patient and family education regarding surgical and obstetric procedures
• Follow all National Patient Safety Goals, universal protocols, and use safe transfer techniques
• Adhere to professional practice standards and maintain patient confidentiality
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
• Assignment limited to one year with a required 30-60 day break before returning

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least two years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery with high-risk pregnancies in large hospital settings
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
• Epic EMR experience required
