Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications for night shifts at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00pm–7:30am), every other weekend required
• No block scheduling allowed
• Mandatory floating to any unit or Cook facility within 50 miles at the facility's discretion, with notification possible up to 2 hours before the shift
• Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required, not provided
• Will provide critical care nursing to a diverse patient population in a dynamic environment
• Team-based care model may be implemented if floated outside primary competency
• Strict RTO policy: maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend or holiday RTO, and no RTO before or after a holiday
• If called out on a holiday, contract may be canceled
• Compliance requirements include completing all labs and documentation within specified deadlines
• Parking garage available near the hospital for $5 per entry
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Proof of COVID vaccination required prior to start (booster not required)
• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates accepted
