Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room with SC or compact licensure and strong circulating and scrubbing skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room setting
• Requires both circulating and scrubbing for surgical cases
• Uses Cerner EMR; experience is required or preferred
• Scheduled shifts are 11:00 to 21:30, Monday through Thursday
• Includes two on-call weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within a 6-week period
• Position is for a 7-week contract with the potential for extension
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the OR
• Duties include patient assessments, prioritizing and evaluating care, and patient/family education
• Expected to maintain effective communication and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Exposed to typical operating room conditions and infection control procedures
• Must comply with regulatory requirements, patient safety, and organizational quality standards
• Travelers may stay on assignment for up to one year before a mandatory 30–60 day break
• Position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines

Requirements

• Active RN license in SC or a compact state and not a permanent SC resident
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• Ability to perform both circulating and scrubbing roles in the OR
• Frequent walking, standing, lifting, and dexterity required
• No local candidates accepted; must live 50+ miles from the facility
